Early Life, Family and Training Ignác Kolčák was born on May 16, 1931, in Sihelné. He grew up in a large household as one of eleven children. His parents, Pavol and Anna (née Bubliaková), were smallholders. Life in the family was marked by scarcity, and the children often went without basic comforts.
