Gerrit Willemsz van Schoterbosch was a son of Willem Fransz van Schoterbosch. He was a town councillor of Haarlem and, beginning in 1588, served a number of terms as burgomaster. Johan Gerritsz van Schoterbosch was a son of Gerrit Willemsz van Schoterbosch and Margriet Jansdr Ravelijn. In 1589, he married Weyntje Pietersdr Kies (c. 1569-1602).
